Stroke - Non-Hemorrhagic at Southeastern PA Albert Einstein

A nonhemhorrhagic stroke is when damage to the brain occurs when the brain isn't getting enough blood or oxygen. Symptoms include swallowing difficulties, vertigo, numbness, weakness, and speech difficulties. Nonhemhorragic strokes can be caused by blood clots that block blood flow to the brain, heart attacks, lung problems, dangerously low blood sugar, and high blood pressure. CT scans and MRIs are used in the diagnostic process. Blood work is also used. Treatment for a nonhemhorragic stroke includes blood pressure control, intravenous heparin, and medication to break the clot if found early enough.
